According to the Oberlo.com
” In 2019, the number of global smartphone users is projected to total 3.3 billion, marking a 10 percent increase from 2018.   In other words, more than four out of every ten people in the world are currently equipped with a smartphone.”

Mobile applications are a very important part of the smartphone. These apps are of different types like Native, Web and Hybrid, which runs on different platforms. Mobile App Development Companies are creating apps that can runs on cross platforms with a single code.

Different Type of apps

In Mobile application development, we generally see two kinds of application which are listed below:

Native App:-

These types of apps are developed for a particular operating system. If you want to use any apps then you have to choose a specific app store.
For example, An App developed for iOS can only be retrieved by Apple users and is developed using XCode/Objective-C, etc. whereas Android applications are developed using Java, Kotlin, etc.
This is very costly and very time taken as a complete process happens for a particular app store only.

Hybrid App:-

These are HTML5 apps. Hybrid apps are cross-platform UI that is compatible with the majority of devices. This is a low-cost app development method but cannot be used for every type of app.

Introduction of Apache Cordova

According to the Wikipedia
Apache Cordova (PhoneGap) is a mobile app development framework initially created by NitobiAdobe Systems acquired Nitobi in 2011, rebranded it as PhoneGap, and an open-source version of the software called Apache Cordova released later. Apache Cordova enables us to develop applications for mobile devices using CSS3HTML5, and JavaScript instead of depending on platform-specific APIs like those in AndroidiOS, or Windows Phone.”

An Apache Cordova app uses  JAVASCRIPT for logic and CSS3 and HTML5 for basic structure and formatting. HTML5 provides access to hardware such as the accelerometer, camera, and GPS. Applications created with Apache Cordova can be distributed to various app stores like Google play store, Apple iOS AppStore, Windows AppStore and installed on end user’s devices like any other native application.

Adobe PhoneGap Build

PhoneGap Build used to build app-store ready apps without the worry of maintaining native SDKs. Upload your assets to the Adobe® PhoneGap™ Build service and Phonegap will do the work for you.

Take advantage of the strengths of PhoneGap.

Build great apps powered by open web standards. Cut down on development time by re-using your existing web dev skills, frameworks, and tools. Get all the benefits of cross-platform development while building apps just the way you like.
